Collector of Fairytales
The action taking place in Vallachia (nowadays the southern part of Romania)in the 19th century, reveals a magical world lost to us, a world filled with superstitions and magical beasts unlike anything one's ever seen... Discover this world of fairytales through the eyes of Mihai Deleanu.
Also watch for the author's comments on key pages. A lot of related topics are explained in depth
UPDATES EVERY SUNDAY WITH 2 PAGES STARTING MAY 2011.
I started posting the Romanian version of Collector of Fairytales (Colectionarul de Basme) on mangamagazine. It will run at the same update speed as the English version.
Hope my few Romanian readers out there will dig this, especially since these stories are not up on mangazup.ro where the series in RO is located.

Collector of Fairytales is up available for reading on MangaMagazine.net also, starting today. For a while the story will unfold on both smackjeeves and mangamagazine at the same update rate.
I won't take down pages from smackjeeves if they are not yet available on mangamagazine and not until the story is finished. As some of you might know if CoF gets a lot of fans on mangamagazine it may become featured which is the first step towards being selected to become part of the mangamagazine team members series.
The difference on the long run would be the order in which the stories will be featured. I started updating on mangamagazine the Storyteller which is designed more as a prologue story, while here the series starts with Fairies' Dance.
Overall it doesn't really matter which story you start reading the series with since they are stand alone, however some things will be better explained (hopefully) in the mangamagazine upload order, which would also be the chronological order and the order in which the stories would be featured in a future print form.

Collector of Fairytales is on topwebcomics. You can vote for it monthly on topwebcomics directly on clicking the button below.
You can find the same button on the left on the sidebar.
There are no incentives yet, because I've just finished setting up the account there but I hope to be able to put something up for the 3rd anniversary of the series.
Voting is encouraged and it shows that the 220+ pages are worthwhile reading.

The new 2012 story has already begun updating. I decided to keep with the 2 pages per week update on Sundays as it suits me well at this time.
As you might has noticed the reading direction has changed from right-to-left to left-to-right, western style. Hope this doesn't create confusion. At some key point during this story the reading will switch back to right-to-left. This cumbersome trick will hopefully work in the event that the series is printed in a clever way, making the reader smoothly adjust to the transition between the two directions. If this fails, i've successfully created the best way to confuse readers.
This month on the 31st Collector of Fairytales is celebrating its 3rd anniversary and second one on smackjeeves. So probably i'll be doing an illustration to celebrate that.
What I have in store fore 2012 for the series:
+ submit it to topwebcomics so readers can vote for it
+ finish all stories that make up volume 1 (estimated at 350-400 pages).
Hope more readers will follow the series as i try to make it more interesting.

The upcoming pages from Pig's Tale are just for preview, meaning that the story won't run on smackjeeves at the moment. They will continue the updating schedule for these last weeks of 2011 together with some original illustrations done for the series. CoF will have a Xmas-New Year break and then...
The Storyteller which is the new story, will begin starting January 2012. By this time, I'd have finished drawing most of the pages and inking a consistent batch of them.
I preferred this method of preview pages instead of putting on a hiatus. Also I hope the preview will act as a teaser and determine readers to stay with the series on the long run.

I appologize to my readers for my second missed update the last week. I've been working hard to finish drawing the entire story "Shadows" as to get it over before Xmas. I'm 2 pages short of the actual ending and that's good news, because it seldom happens for me to draw 6 pages in a weekend.
On another note, this is another reason why I have little time to ink and work on my comic. I'm judging for this local manga competition and there are 19 entries of 15 pages each up and just 2 weeks to judge them. It's pretty hard because judges are asked to write between 200-500 words critique on each and every piece on top of ranking them on certain criterias. Public voting is open however it's also a very strict process, not like the SJ Awards here.
Here are the entries, some of them are in english so you can read them if you feel like it. Some have pretty good grafics so you can just watch them if you don't get the text or action.

Basically, no update this Sunday. I want to finish drawing the whole story beforehand.
Also i'm thinking of switching from right to left reading style to the more normal left to right. How am I going to do this without creating utter confusion is still to be seen.
A version would be to have a comment on each page published so far with the reading direction , another idea would be to start a new comic Collector of Fairytales 2 with the new pages. I don't know, really, what do you think works best from the reader point of view?
